The security chamber
The security chamber on your luggage has been designed to conceal the slider on your zip (the mechanism that meshes and unmeshes the zip). An individually numbered plastic seal (the TEBCo DC seal) then seals the chamber, which makes it extremely difficult to tamper with the contents of your luggage (including the insertion of illegal items) without clear evidence that a breach has occurred. The chamber and seal mechanism operates as follows:
| When closed, the chamber lid totally encloses the zip slider. |
The chamber's lid doubles as the puller that opens and closes the bag. |
The chamber body automatically separates the twin arrowheads on the seal when snapped into place. This protects the integrity of the seal from tampering. |
The contrasting seal and chamber colours offer easy to read and highly noticeable warnings, with any tampering clearly evident. |
TEBco luggage has been designed to give you the maximum level of confidence that your luggage has not been interfered with whilst travelling. Key features include:
- no external pockets which would otherwise assist perpetrators to insert illegal items in your luggage
- the TEBco brand on the outside of the luggage, warning perpetrators that the bags are sealed
- numbered seals with no repeated numbers in 260 million seals
What to do if the seal has been broken
If you collect your bag and it has a broken or different numbered seal, you will know immediately that security has been breached. The chamber cannot be opened without breaking the seal, and any unauthorised tampering should be clearly evident.
Should this breach occur, do not take possession of your luggage. Walk away and alert the appropriate authorities by informing them that you believe your luggage may have been tampered with. You should also state that you may not be able to account for the contents of your luggage which is why you have brought the matter to their attention.
